AGAVE SUSTAINABILITY

When harvesting wild agaves, we always use sustainable practices set up by The Mexican Department of Forestry (SEMARNAT), which ensures that only a small percentage of the maguey population from the land will be harvested. This protects the majority of the agaves to be able to flower and to procreate naturally.

The common practice in many places where producers know the importance of agave sustainability, and we adopted it from our earliest days, is to have a minimum of one maguey farmed for each harvested maguey.

We collect seeds throughout Mexico from different species of wild agave. We started our greenhouses in 2016, where we currently mainly produce A. Potatorum, A. Salmiana, A. Rhodacantha, A. Cupreata and A. Angustifolia Haw plants.
